WE LOVE MEETING

NEW PATIENTS

We know that every new patient is a potential patient for life.

That's why we take the time to build a strong and healthy relationship by getting to know you and your expectations. To us, your initial assessment is more than a simple “Checkup”. It’s an opportunity to focus on prevention and identifying, and stopping, any potential issues at the earliest stages.

By doing a thorough assessment we can put your mind at ease and create a personalised treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. When you visit Dentistry@Markethill our hope is that from the moment you step through our doors you feel relaxed and welcomed.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON

YOUR FIRST VISIT

Dental Nurse taking patient history

Before your first visit, we will send you a medical history and a smile check form which we ask you fill out to the best of your ability.

Once here, you will be greeted by a member of our friendly reception team who will ask for these forms.
Remember to bring a list of any medications that you are currently taking as well. If you need help with any of the forms, we are happy to help.

You can download our medical history form below to save a little bit of time when you arrive at the practice.

You will then be taken to a treatment room for a private consultation with your new dentist.

They will ask you a few questions about your expectations or any issues or concerns you may have before performing a thorough dental examination.

At any time during your visit, your dentist will happily answer any questions about the treatments or procedures - we want you to feel as comfortable as possible at all times.

You can have a look at our Wellbeing Examination Form below.

WHAT YOUR EXAM INCLUDES

During your assessment your dentist will:

  • Examine each tooth for signs of disease or decay
  • Perform a mouth cancer screen
  • Take any relevant x-rays
  • Discuss the findings and various treatments available and provide an estimate of costs and payment options
  • Create a written treatment plan and arrange your next appointment

Some patients require a more complex treatment, if this is the case with you we will organise a series of appointments at times that suit you.

*The Worldwide Dental Emergency Assistance Scheme is a scheme established to offer support and assistance to dental plan patients who request treatment following a dental trauma and/or dental emergency or oral cancer. The Scheme responds to requests for assistance on a wholly discretionary basis. This means that, whilst the Scheme aims to provide benefits in most cases, it has no obligation to provide any benefit unless it first decides (in its sole and absolute discretion) that it should provide a benefit. There are some circumstances in which the Scheme is not designed to help and these are explained in more detail in the Scheme Handbook. Each request will be looked at individually to assess the request for benefit. Certain restrictions and limitations may apply in the event that the request is accepted and it is possible that the Scheme will decide to provide no benefit.
